Indian food and agribusiness industry is large and diverse with about a dozen industries offering inputs for agriculture and about three dozen industries involved in output businesses and agri-food value chain. Each major industry has its one or more national level associations, catering to the policy and development needs of that industry. However, need has been felt for a long time to have larger support system to substantiate efforts of each industry with more research and knowledge inputs and institutional, policy and political support system. With this vision, ICFA has institutionalized sector specific working groups with members from the industry, institutions and policy making coming together to form apex boards of each working group. An ideal Working Group has 40 Board Members, with 75% coming from the industry and 25% from the other stake-holders. ICFA has so far operationalized nine Working Groups, out of 47 WGs that have been identified. During the period of 2017 – 18, ICFA plans to operationalize all the 47 WGs. Important stake-holders are invited to log on and register or write to us for co-opting them on the relevant National Working Groups.
